More cases of missing children are reported today than ever before, not only in the United States, but throughout the world. The exact number of children missing throughout the United States each year is unknown; however, the firgures most often quoted
are between 1.5 and 1.8 million.
The following statistics were provided by the Unted States Department of Justice in May of 1990 and other studies. They create an awareness of the number and type of crimes being committed against our children.
